Social distancing guidelines have forced the postponement and cancellation of many events in Saskatoon.
Scott Ford, the executive director of Sasktel Centre, joined The Brent Loucks Show to share the status of all events that were scheduled before the COVID-19 pandemic hit the province.
For rescheduled events, customers will have 30 days upon the announcement of a new date to either hold onto their tickets or get a refund. Refunds will be issued to ticket-holders for cancelled events.
Sports
The Western Hockey League season and all remaining Saskatoon Blades games were cancelled.
The National Lacrosse League season and all remaining Saskatchewan Rush games were cancelled.
The Saskatchewan Rattlers regular-season debut has been pushed back from May 14 to a tentative undecided day in July.
Concerts
Jojo Siwa’s April 6 performance was postponed with no date scheduled yet.
Celine Dion’s April 25 concert has been postponed with no date scheduled yet.
The ZZ Top and Cheap Trick concert, originally set for May 9, has been moved to May 1, 2021.
The Black Keys’ May 16 show has been cancelled.
Other Events
The WWE Wrestlemania Redemption event scheduled for April 26 has been cancelled.
The RCMP Musical Ride is in talks to postpone from June 6-7. If another date can’t be set, it will be cancelled.
Cirque du Soleil Axel, which was to run from July 8-12, has been cancelled.
