The Regina Catholic School Division says there has been a positive COVID-19 case at St. Kateri Tekakwitha School.
In a media release Thursday evening, the division said it had been informed by the Saskatchewan Health Authority that an individual had tested positive.
Despite the positive case, the division said all classrooms will stay open at the school in the Harbour Landing neighbourhood.
“We are working with Public Health to inform parents and caregivers, and the SHA is doing contact tracing,” the division said in its release. “To our understanding, the risk of exposure for anyone not considered a close contact remains low.”
The Catholic school division said it wouldn’t be providing any other details “to protect privacy of individuals.” It’s unclear if the case is a student or staff member.
Positive cases previously had been reported at four Regina schools: Marion McVeety School, Ethel Milliken School, Ecole Harbour Landing School and Winston Knoll Collegiate.
